Detroit Hardness Tester
Description:This is a hardness tester. It works by dropping a steel ball. The higher the ball bounces, the harder the surface. I was optimistic that this would work. However, I haven't found it to be accurate enough to be worth while. There are much more accurate ways to calculate steel hardness. Sadly, this inexpensive antique store hardness tester just isn't accurate enough.
